True spirit of Judo is nothing but the gentle and diligent free spirit. Judo rests on flexible action of mind and body. The word flexible however never means weakness but something more like adaptability and openmindedness. Gentleness always overcomes strength.”

Nick Lowry’s Windsong Dojo is Oklahoma City’s oldest and most respected training center for the traditional Japanese Martial Arts. At Windsong Dojo we teach arts that empower the body, awaken the mind, and enlighten the spirit; arts that embody both tradition and innovation; arts that are both powerful tools for self-defense, and tools for inner growth.

In a relaxed no-contract atmosphere and an adult learning environment you will find the practices of: Aikido, a non-competitive, low impact, soft touch, self-defense based art of harmony; Judo, a medium intensity, proactive, highly empowering practice of throws and grappling; and Jyodo, a traditional weapons form from ancient Japan that transforms perception and fosters precision.

Through these practices, which together constitute a complete martial arts form we call Kaze Uta Budo, you will realize:

a dynamic and internalized self-defense
an improved health and vitality
a greater self confidence and self-respect
a path towards life harmony
a strategy of non-violence and inner peace
a new found sense of wholeness
and many special friends to share the journey.

With time, practice, and patience, Kaze Uto Budo will transform your life. You will see and feel results. All are welcome.

Godo-geiko: Labor Day Weekend Budo Playday September 4-6, 2009 at Windsong

All are invited to the Labor Day Weekend Windsong Dojo Budo Playday September 4-6, 2009, where we will have open minds on an open mat and all the Aikido, Judo and Jyodo you might want in a weekend! All ranks and affilations are welcome!

Please note that this is not clinic, not a big "teachy preachy" deal. We are here to play and have a good time; share, grow, and get to know each other better. There is no fee, but if you'd like to chip in a small mat fee, I would apprecaite it. If you are coming in from out of town and want to crash on the mat, that's cool too.

Friday night will be mostly Judo from 6:00 'til folks have had enough.

Saturday morning and afternoon will be mostly Aikido starting at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM respectively. We'll probably have some sort of eats Satuday night.

Sunday will be mostly Jyodo starting at 10:00 AM til we all get tuckered out.

Feel free to spread the word to all and sundry who might like to come.
If you have questions email me at nick@windsongdojo.com or call me at (405) 943-6246.

Peace,
